pumpkin day

I'm so glad that it's finally fall! The weather is cooler, the leaves are finally turning colors, and pumpkin everything is at Trader Joe's. YAY!!!! You probably don't know but Trader Joe's is one of my al time favorite stores, I'm always real excited when they are bringing back or have new products!

I went to TJ's today with my parents, siblings, great grandparents, and grandpa. We bought pumpkin everything. Pumpkin soup, pumpkin biscotti, pumpkin cereal, pumpkin chocolate, pumpkin body butter, pumpkin waffles, pumpkin scone cookies and of course pumpkins!
We had a lot of fun picking and choosing what kind of pumpinky things we wanted. Thanks to great grandpa for it all! :)

This evening after we got home I was feeling very inspired by the pumpkins and wanted to arrange them in a cool way and take a few pics. Not sure on how 'cool' the arrangement was but hey i tried. ha!

The little white ones are mine.
My plan is to glitter them. (like this, & this. I've wanted to try this too. Can you tell i like glitter?)

November Photo Challenge

So I decided that I'm going to do a November photo challenge. Scrolling through Pinterest I found quite a few photo challenges. When I came across this one, I thought that it was better than the others because to me it seemed to have more of a purpose. The purpose being, having a focus on being grateful. And I thought that would be good because Thanksgiving is in November and with taking pictures of things you are grateful for it can help you remember that you can be grateful everyday not only on Thanksgiving.

FYI: I'm not going to be hashtagging the pictures because I'm just posting them on the blog.

Have you ever done a photo challenge? Where do you post your pictures?

For the last 2 weeks I have been house sitting at my grandparents.  The rest of my family is camping this weekend with our church group near by. Since the campground is not to far from my grandparents house I decided to join them for the afternoon and dinner. It was a fun but short time with my family and friends. Of course I brought my camera along and took a few shots. I did walk around the park grounds a little bit, and from what I saw it would be a great place to come back to and take portraits. There were lots of trees and grassy areas and a big lake with a small dock. With the sunset it was all beautiful!

a little about me

Since creating this blog back in August and not having done anything on it yet I have decided just to go for it and hope that it works!
This blog won't only be dedicated to photography but will be filled with thoughts on life, encouraging words, stories of my adventures and more.

In my first post I shared a little about my self. Here is a bit more to start the blog off.
Although I live in the city I'm still very much a country girl. I love working with animals and am not afraid to get my hands dirty. I've lived in Southern California for the last 4 1/2 years but spent my growing up years in the country on the Central Coast.

I enjoy photography very much and having just graduated high school I now have time to become more serious about photography and expand my skills and a photographer. Right now I mostly photograph flowers, food and landscapes, but would like to get better at doing portraits.

it's not dead, it's golden
I'm 18, the second oldest of 7 kids and an Auntie to one adorable little boy!
I play many instruments including the cello, piano, guitar and ukulele. I would like to learn the harp, mandolin and penny whistle next.
